Little Caps and Gowns

There was no such thing as a pre-school “Graduation Day” when I was a child, it was about the bunch of songs and dance routines we’d been rehearsing for months. Maybe I am growing old enough to appreciate the “Graduation Day “concept which is trending now and becoming a pre-or junior school marketing tool for attraction, making a good end of the serene education era is what I feel! Little children wearing mortarboards and rolled diploma for kinder class, it doesn’t go well with me. It might sound cute, look adorable but excessively premature. When those little straight-line scribbles evolve into circular scribbles, it is indeed a precious milestone, moving from kinder to school is a big deal. But when we note every step as a ceremony, the real ones become less special for the kid. Do they need to be constantly rewarded for things they will automatically do? By using the term “graduate “, aren’t we taking away something from the kids?  Accomplishment Certificates do hold value, but let’
